I bought a weekly planner from Typo last week, and I just went through and filled in all the dates. I got to August-November and started freaking out. The end of my HSC is so close and I am terrified.

I am trying to write an essay but my mind is all “blargh what is Great Expectations even about ugh belonging I don’t know any literary devices” and I can tell that this isn’t going to work very well.

I can never fall asleep after doing close shifts at work. This sucks. So I’m just lying in bed listening to the Scott Pilgrim vs The World soundtrack. Fuck, it’s amazing.
All the fun people left work and now it is lame and boring.

My night at work has the potential to be loads of fun.

Tonight was really lovely. Nanna had no idea about it, she was really surprised and so happy to see all her family and some old friends. Her reaction was priceless and I’m so glad she enjoyed herself because she is the most caring, selfless and generous person I know and she deserves it. I love her a lot.

I’m going to keep a tally of how many “oh, look how big you’ve grown!”s and “the last time I saw you, you were only this high!”s I get tonight. Most of them will be from people I don’t know.
Yesterday was my Nanna’s 70th birthday and tonight we are having a surprise party for her. Me and my step mum decorated our house this morning and now my aunty is here. She made loads of cupcakes and we’ve iced and decorated them all. So many cupcakes! She made a giant cupcake too. THEY LOOK AMAZING!

I’m currently trying to work on my Extension 2 journal. I also have to finish an Advanced English assignment due the first day back (!!!) and I’d completely forgotten about my Viva Voce in a few weeks. Not to mention the maths assessment I was meant to prepare for, or the Food Tech work I still have to do.
Our school principal has a twitter.

The entire school received an email from the “Director of Students” that says “we will begin the day with a full assembly in the Centre, as we gather to welcome the new Year 7 students and to place them into their Houses.”
I am expecting (/hoping for) a Hogwarts style sorting, complete with a Sorting Hat.

BIG DAY OUT POST because I'm on the train home and...
•After much train related drama, I finally met up with Tom at Lidcombe and we caught the train to Olympic Park.
•After minimal ticket related drama (much less than expected!) we got in and it was SUPER EXCITING.
•First we saw a bit of The Naked and Famous and they were pretty good! I’d never really listened to them before but I enjoyed their set.

I’m at Big Day Out with Tom (einbischenluft), Cathy (lasso) and Ethan (premiumharmony) and we’re waiting for Washington to start! Big Day Out runs so much better than Soundwave. Everything is organised better and I am super impressed by this.
